your story, captured in light and grain

FAQ

My approach

My ideal session will start with a little chat, a catch up as if we're old friends so that I can tune into your family’s unique rhythm and capture it gently through my lens. While documentary-style moments hold a special place in my heart, I also love sneaking in a few posed smiles.

With over seven years immersed in Childcare and Education, I know children bring their own delightful kind of beautiful chaos. The giggles, the tears, the wild little rhythms they march to—none of it is too much for me. These moments, messy and magical, each tell a story of their own, and it’s my honour to freeze them in time for you.

My photography and editing style are deeply inspired by nostalgia. I aim to preserve the true colors of your memories, gently enhanced with a timeless, film-like touch, weaving together the beautiful narrative of your family’s story.

How do I book?

You can get in touch with me right here in the 'contact' section on the top right side of the website. Otherwise, you can email me (ohhoneyphotography@icloud.com) or send me a message through Instagram (@ohhoneyphotography_) or Facebook (Oh Honey Photography). From there, we’ll chat about potential dates and the kind of session that feels just right for you.

I've booked a session. What happens next?

Once we’ve settled on the details, I’ll send over three emails: one with your contract to sign, one with a PDF questionnaire, and one with your invoice.

To secure your booking, you will need to sign your contract and make payment of a $50 non-refundable deposit. The remaining balance isn't due until 7 days before your session and payment plans are available!

Please take your time with the PDF questionnaire as this will help me tune in to your unique story. I'll send out a confirmation the day before your session and then we will capture magic. I take up to 3 weeks to edit galleries, though they are often delivered within 7 to 10 days.

Do you offer payment plans?

Of course - happy to discuss what this might look like for you.

What should we wear for our session?

Confidence in front of the camera begins with comfort—so I don’t recommend wearing something elaborate or far outside your usual style for your session. Instead, choose pieces that feel like you.

While soft neutrals and earthy tones photograph beautifully, I have a deep love for colour—so if bold hues speak to your soul, don’t shy away from them.

If you’d like more tailored guidance, I’m happy to offer detailed styling suggestions once your session is booked. We’ll make sure you feel confident, comfortable, and entirely yourself.

What if I have to cancel my booking?

I completely understand that life can be unpredictable. Please note that the deposit is non-refundable, as it secures your date in my calendar and ensures I turn away other potential bookings for that time. I hope you understand—this helps me honour the time and care I dedicate to each session.

What if the weather isn't playing along?

I’m a big believer in embracing the weather—it’s part of the story, after all. Cloudy skies and a bit of wind can bring a certain kind of magic to your images so I won’t reschedule sessions for cold or overcast conditions. However, if the weather becomes unsafe, we’ll absolutely make other arrangements.

What's your turnaround time?

I allow for up to three weeks but generally get galleries back within 10 days. Either way, I will be sure to communicate with you throughout the entire process and endeavour to send through a few sneak peeks.

Will you post our photos on social media?

I absolutely love sharing little glimpses from our sessions, however, if keeping your memories just for you feels more right, please don’t hesitate to let me know. We can keep everything private, or share only the images you feel most comfortable with. Your story, your call—always.

Do you provide RAW images?

A significant part of the magic happens during the editing process—it's where your story truly comes to life. Because of this, unedited (RAW) files don’t reflect the final vision or the heart of my work, and for that reason, I don’t provide RAW files.

where should we have our session?

Some well-loved locations are Cobbler Creek Recreation park, Adelaide Botanic Gardens, Semaphore, Grange, Port Adelaide, Mount Crawford Forest, in-home, at your local playground, a TTG park. I am also happy to travel almost anywhere, however, some locations may incur an additional fee.

Be mindful that the location and time of day hold such an important role in the outcome of your photos. If you choose a 10am beach session in the warmer months please don't expect soft photos or golden hues - these are reserved for sunrise/sunset sessions. If you prefer more muted tones then cloudy weather on the beach is a perfect combo for you. Want a pop of colour? Parks, playgrounds, gardens, forests are the spot! These locations are also great for filtering light if you would prefer a daytime session.
